The NGOs Youth Diplomacy and Global Attitude are proposing an innovative pedagogical approach to professional skills development and the strengthening Franco-Brazilian relations. The Franco-Brazilian Negotiations Fellowship is a unique initiative, combining an understanding of global affairs with the practice of international negotiations. The fist stage of the event will be happening in São Paulo from 18th to 23th February.

Focusing in trade and diplomatic study cases, the Brazilian and French participants will engage in a simulation of international negotiations debating what could have been done differently in relation to each case. At the end they will present their conclusions to an Advisory Board made up of experts in different fields.

The FBNF has closed down several strategically important partnerships with French and Brazilian governmental institutions and partners. ‘We are working to involve actors from an array of sectors – governmental, corporate and academic – to provide the participants with a well rounded vision about the economic and political relation between the two countries’ says Rodrigo Reis, co-director of the programme.

The Fellowship offers a strong academic and diplomatic side-event programme, including a visit to the Franco-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce with the presence of its Executive Director – Sueli Lartigue, a “Welcoming Meeting” at the The French Trade Commission UBIFRANCE in São Paulo, and a “Entrepreneurs Morning” where the participants will have the chance to hear and engage with successful entrepreneurs in Brazil.
